Company Profile
Business Description:
The Landing Pad – indoor skatepark and foam pit is a fun center with a focus on skateboarding and winter sports training. Features include a fake snow ramp into a foam pit, street style skate area with ledges and banks, skate and free jump platform into the foam pit, entertainment/lounge area, and a skateboard pro shop offering beverages, skate decks and parts, along with a small selection of apparel.
Future Plans and Expansion:
We are currently in a 6000ft2 unit and have run into barriers with ceiling height which is currently limiting the progression of our snowboarding and skiing customers. Plans have been made with our current landlord on his new building which will be built to the Landing Pad’s specifications and will include higher ceilings and a sunken foam pit. These changes will make it possible for customers to attempt and learn double flips and double corks. The added 2500ft2 (8500ft2 total) in the new warehouse will also allow for two dropins/takeoffs and an indoor jib area which the Landing Pad currently does not offer. Other activities that may also be included are a boulder area and trampolines. The street style skate area was built to be moved to the new building when the time comes. The skate area will be moved and re-built with a few changes and some new features to compliment our current setup. Also, more area for spectators and parents is planned and will include a raised viewing area and catwalk, bay doors will be used during times of high spectator volume (events, demos, etc.). The new building is currently being built and we are projected to be ready to move in next spring 2011.
Financial:
The facility has only been open for roughly 4 weeks with the first sale on September 27th and the first snow sessions started on October 2nd. The Landing pad has attracted over 220 customers and seen sales over $4,500 in just over three weeks with only the fake snow ramps/foam pit and the pro shop open. The street style skate section is nearing its completion and will soon be open for skateboard specific customers. We are expecting an increase in customers and sales once the skate section is open for business.
Competitiveness:
The Landing Pad is currently the only indoor skate park in Bozeman and is one of three indoor skateparks in Montana. The Landing Pad is one of a few or the only fully public foam pit with a fake snow ramp indoors in the nation and is located in an area experiencing some of the country’s highest growth rates both economically and in population. The local community of Bozeman and the greater state of Montana even though small in population and large cities, has a strong skate community and a large market for freestyle snowboarding and skiing. The Landing Pad has good web representation and has also had articles published in BombSnow Magazine, Big Sky Lookout, Bozeman Chronicle, and Jackson Magazine (coming soon).
The Landing Pad is the ideal location for your company to increase its brand awareness and exposure within a growing market through a business-to-business sponsor. Your sponsorship will aid in making our facility the best it can be for our customers and ultimately yours. The Landing Pad is a facility of fun and enjoyment for the many action sports enthusiasts in our growing community. We want to provide a platform of expression and self-empowerment for the communities’ youth.
